Day 1: Inca Trail KM 104 โ€“ Wiรฑay Wayna โ€“ Sun Gate โ€“ Machu Picchu

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and transferred to the train station to begin your journey toward the Inca Trail starting point at KM 104. Upon arrival, you will officially enter the Inca Trail network and visitย Chachabamba, an important ceremonial site believed to have served as a control entrance to Machu Picchu.

The hike continues through lush cloud forest scenery, surrounded by rivers, waterfalls, and native flora. After a scenic ascent, you will enjoy a break and a box lunch before reachingย Wiรฑay Wayna, one of the most impressive archaeological complexes along the Inca Trail. This site showcases agricultural terraces, temples, and panoramic views of the Urubamba Valley.

By midday, you will reach the legendaryย Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will witness your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu from above. After descending, you will travel to Aguas Calientes town, where you will check in at your hotel and rest for the night.
